Terms of Service
The following rules apply whenever you visit the Y2Mate website or use its YouTube download and conversion tools. Using the site means you accept them; anyone who cannot accept them should stop using the service. Last updated: September 2026.
1. The service
Y2Mate lets you submit the link of a publicly available YouTube video and receive an MP4 video file or an MP3 audio file generated from it. The service is provided free of charge, without registration, and may be changed, paused or discontinued at any time without notice.
2. Who may use it
You must be old enough to enter into a binding agreement in your country, and your use must be lawful where you are. If you use the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it to these terms.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- download or convert material you have no right to copy;
- redistribute, sell, broadcast or re-upload files obtained through the service without permission from the rights holder;
- use scripts, bots or automated tools to submit requests in bulk, or otherwise place an unreasonable load on our servers;
- attempt to bypass any restriction we apply, including blocks placed at the request of rights holders;
- reverse engineer, scrape, frame or resell the service;
- use the service to infringe privacy, harass anyone or break any law.
4. Your responsibility for content
You alone decide which links you submit. You are responsible for confirming that you may lawfully copy the content, whether because you own it, because it is released under a licence that permits downloading, because the rights holder has agreed, or because an exception in your local law applies. Y2Mate does not review submitted links and gives no assurance that any particular download is permitted.
5. Copyright complaints
We respect intellectual property and respond to valid notices from rights holders. The procedure is described on the copyright claims page. Links that are the subject of a valid notice are blocked from conversion.
6. Third-party services
Videos, thumbnails and previews originate from YouTube, which is operated by Google and subject to its own terms. Y2Mate is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to YouTube or Google. We are not responsible for the availability or content of YouTube or of any other third-party site linked from ours.
7. Our intellectual property
The Y2Mate name, logo, page design and text are ours. You may use the service as intended, but you may not copy the site, its branding or its written content for use elsewhere.
8. No warranty
The service is offered as is and as available. We make no promise about uptime, freedom from bugs, security or fitness for any particular purpose, nor that any video will be convertible or that output will be of a particular quality.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Y2Mate and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profit or goodwill, connected with using, or being unable to use, the service. Where the law does not let us exclude liability entirely, our total liability is capped at what you have paid for the service, which is zero.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Y2Mate and its operators against any claim, damage or cost, including reasonable legal fees, that results from you breaking these rules or from material you obtain through the service.
11. Suspension
We may block any user, network or link at our discretion, in particular where we suspect abuse, automated access or copyright infringement, without notice and without liability.
12. Privacy
The way we handle data is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
13. Changes and severability
We may revise these terms by publishing an updated version on this page. Continued use after a revision means you accept it. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in force. These terms are the entire agreement between you and Y2Mate regarding the service.
14. Questions
Write to [email protected] with any question about these terms.
