Privacy Policy

Y2Mate is designed to know as little about you as possible. This page explains what the YouTube downloader does and does not record when you use it. Last updated: September 2026.

Data we handle

The links you submit

A pasted YouTube link or a typed search term travels to our servers, where it is used to find the video and produce the file. It is used only to complete your request. We do not attach it to an identity, and we do not build a history of what any visitor has downloaded.

Server logs

Like every website, our servers and our hosting provider record basic technical details for each request: IP address, browser type, the page requested, the time and the response status. These logs exist to keep the service running and to detect abuse. They are rotated automatically and are not analysed for marketing.

Converted files

Each MP4 or MP3 is produced for a single request and removed from our servers shortly after it has been delivered to you. We keep no library of files and cannot retrieve a file you downloaded earlier.

Visitor counter

The site includes a small visitor counter that shows how many people are on the site at the same time. It records an anonymous hit per page view and does not set advertising cookies or follow you to other sites.

Data we do not collect

Cookies and browser storage

Y2Mate does not set cookies of its own. Your browser may keep the site in its history and store the downloaded files in the usual download location; both are entirely under your control. The embedded YouTube player used by the Play button is served by YouTube and may set cookies governed by Google's privacy policy while a preview is open.

Third parties involved

Our infrastructure runs on Cloudflare, which processes requests to protect the site and may see the same technical data described under server logs. Video previews come directly from YouTube. We do not sell, rent or share data with anyone else, and we disclose data only if the law requires it.

Your rights

Because we hold almost nothing that identifies you, most rights requests have a simple answer: there is nothing to export or delete. If you believe we do hold data about you, or you have any privacy question, write to [email protected] and we will respond promptly.

Children

The service is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. As we collect no personal data in the first place, there is nothing to remove, but parents are welcome to contact us with concerns.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised text appears here with a new date at the top. Using Y2Mate after that date counts as accepting the revision.
